How has our contracted monthly recurring rent changed?

Ask Categoric · Business metrics

Illustration using existing stored monthly records

Interactive example · Sample data

Birch PropertiesReturned months: July–September 2026Stored MRR · Contracted recurring rent · USD

Stored MRR for contracted recurring rent rises from $20,000 to $24,000—a 20% increase across these three records.

Ask compares the available monthly metric values. These historical contracted-rent records are not rent collected, recognized rental income, a forecast or an explanation of tenancy changes.

Native Ask illustration, not a connected-agent MRR tool claim. This example uses existing stored rows; native KPI access may compute and store MRR when records are absent or seed-only.

Two suggestions are ready to review. The venue deposit needs more context.

Location fees is suggested for the $389 location hire and Repairs & maintenance for the $24 routine locksmith work. The $2,400 venue deposit stays unresolved until its purpose and terms are reviewed.

Supported categorization suggestions use the authorized entity’s records. Review the context and preview before separately approving a governed change.

This venue deposit is refundable, not a production cost. Show me the proposed change.

Interactive example · Sample data

Cedar StudioSeptember 2026Venue deposit · $2,400.00

The proposal moves one transaction from Production costs to Refundable deposits (asset). Nothing has been applied.

Your clarification says the deposit is refundable. Review the venue agreement and refund conditions before approving the proposed asset treatment.

Governed categorization requires separate first-party approval before apply. Providing context or opening this follow-up is not authorization to change the books.

A few useful distinctions.

What does connecting an agent allow?

A compatible client connects through MCP, the protocol for calling Categoric’s supported tools. The connection is limited to granted permissions and entity scope—not unrestricted control of the app. Your agent-provider account and subscription remain separate.

Who approves a category change?

Suggestions do not change transactions. For governed categorization, you review and approve the exact preview in Categoric. A subsequent authorized apply can make the change while that approval remains valid. Asking, clarifying or opening an example is not approval.

Does Ask only read data?

The report examples explain existing records without changing transactions. Not every Ask tool is purely read-only: some business-metric requests can compute and store metrics when records are absent or seed-only. Available behavior depends on the enabled tool.

Can an agent work with any file or entity?

No. Supply files through a supported upload flow first; a chat instruction does not grant access to your device. Organization and group-report tools require enabled capabilities and authorized scope. Their deployment availability must be confirmed separately.
